New projects at NACAB

During December 2008 – September 2009, the National Association of Citizens Advice Bureaux has a new project – „NACAB’s Institutional and Operational Consolidation”, financed by the European Union through Phare Programme 2006 – Increasing the Role of Civil Society in Romania’s Integration Process. With this project, NACAB aims at consolidating the institutional and operational capacity of the organization to respond to network and members’ needs. With regards to the activities pertaining to technical assistance to be provided for the CABs, during the implementation of the project NACAB will focus on gaining on sustainability as far as the CAB service is concerned. During the visits to be paid to the CABs in the network, the association will offer support to NGO members in elaborating an action plan, which would identify and make use of the needed resources for insuring the stability of the information and advice services offered at CAB.

The actions plans will be elaborated by each CAB and will contain references to objectives to be pursued, activities to be implemented, timetable of activities to be followed and persons in charge with each task. During the process of elaborating the action plans, the NACAB Executive Secretariat will provide feedback for the draft versions, and will offer CABs documents and additional information (e.g. funding opportunities, ideas for partnerships at the local level, researches, handbooks etc.). This endeavor is constitutive part of the long term strategy of NACAB and is conducive to offering support to NGO members of NACAB to render the CAB services into permanent ones in the communities in which they function.
