Is there a System of Public Funding in Romania?

On June 30, NACAB organized the conference Romanian Communities & Public Funds. The event took place at the premises of CAB Bucharest – Calea Victoriei, no. 2, sector 3, Bucharest, ground floor, FEDES IRECSON hall. The participants at the conference were the representatives of the local public authorities, of the public institutions at the national level, the representatives of the NGO sector, and representatives of the CABs.

Following the conference Romanian Communities & Public Funds, NACAB recommends to all stakeholders (public authorities, NGOs, citizens) to contribute to creating an efficient mechanism for public funding through the provisions of the Law 350/2005. Making use of those funds could be conducive to consolidating citizens’ agenda and to solving most of the problems citizens are faced with at the moment in Romania.

In this respect, NACAB believes the public authorities need to make certain citizens are being consulted with regards to the ways in which the public funds are allocated at the local level. Moreover, NACAB recommend to all associations representing the interests of the local public authorities to involve in this matter of allocating public funds.
