Fetch the Councilor, Here's the Citizen!

Period: December 2009 – November 2010.

Goal: To strengthen the capacity of the NGOs to monitor the activity of the Local Councils (LCs) and to mobilize the community with regards to capacitating the LCs in order to represent the interests of citizens; monitoring the LCs from all counties, including Bucharest to determine the extent to which these have represented the interest of citizens in their previous year of activity; creating a framework of accountability for 5 LCs to efficiently represent the interests of citizens in municipalities that registered lowest quotas in this respect, in their previous year of activity; strengthening the capacity of the NACAB NGO members to actively involve in promoting the interests of citizens among local “legislators”. The project activities covered 12 months.
